About Economics at UB
Scarcity is pervasive. Economics is the science that confronts this fact by studying how best to allocate the scarce resources, talents and commodities that are available to our economy and how best to grow these assets over time. It is a very applied science that touches many important aspects of the lives of ordinary men and women and overflows into other important social sciences: law, business studies, sociology, and political science are but a few.
