About Biomedical Sciences at UB
The School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at UB offers a number of undergraduate majors. Among them is the B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. This major is designed to engage students in coursework in the natural sciences to provide the infrastructure for courses that have a "biomedical sciences" focus: anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology. The biomedical sciences are, by their very nature, interdisciplinary. They are derivatives of the natural sciences: biology, chemistry, and physics, and share a clinical focus, that is, an application of basic science principles to the health and well-being of living organisms.
